AFTER

I know that this photo of me does not need very much fixing. However, I decided to put it up.

I removed the bags from under my eyes.

Cleared all acne.

I also removed a couple of freckles on my chest area.

I spent three hours working on a graphic image. I am not fully satisfied with my finished work, but I am pleased enough to put it up as a reference for what I can do.

In this post I will show some of my Photography and Photoshop skills.

_______________________________________________________________________

This one in particular is rather simple to do.

All I did was take a photo of my fathers glass art.

I then selected the area I wanted to stay colored.

Inverted the selection.

Then changed it to black and white.

I believe I used ‘light scale’ I can’t remember exactly.

My fathers art, so here is a link to his page:

http://opensourceglass.wordpress.com/

_________________________________________________________________________

This one was a little harder. Quite a bit harder actually.

I had to take the photo a particular way to achieve my goal.

I used manual zoom to focus on the web.

When in Gimp I simply used the ‘edge detect’ tool. (or something like that)

I had to make other small adjustments, but over all that was most of the work.

______________________________________________________________

This one is actually a fix, the picture I had taken ended up being to blurry.

I had to crop it quite a bit. Getting close enough to the ladybug was hard.

(it kept flying away)

So I used the ‘edge detect’ tool again.

Usually this tool does not work and get me the image that I want.

I had to do some other small changes, such as lighting.

I was not pleased with the lighting in the picture.

I think I might have also used the ‘color enhance’ tool.

____________________________________________________________

These shoes were my mothers in high school, and  now they are mine. I love these shoes so much. They are old, they are falling apart. They take great pictures!

In this picture I did multiple alterations, first I cropped the image to the size wanted.

I used ‘color enhance’ and changed the color with the ‘color balance’ tool.

I then went into ‘filters’ to use the ‘artistic’ ‘photocopy’ tool.

And BAM! A picture of shoes.

_______________________________________________________

I can also do people, such as changing a random hair strand that gets in the way, or maybe a blemish. I just don’t have any before and after pictures.

So, it happens to be 3:44 in the morning. I have school tomorrow. My Christmas break has just ended. However, I can not sleep. So I decided to do something useful. I was just browsing the internet for the past few hours…

_____________________________________________________

this drawing is not finished

I have decided to show you some of what I can do.

This image has 16 hours put into it. Two 8 hour sessions. One late at night and the next the following morning. I tend to do my best work late at night.

I am very pleased with this drawing, however withe every picture there is a flaw or two, but I wont point them out. If you want, find them and leave a comment.

I have watermarked my drawing with my name. (obviously)

In the caption I say that this picture is not finished, because it isn’t. you can see the start of a ground and some other things. Just a plain white background, I would like to change that, but can not think of what would be good. I am also worried that I will mess up what I have.

Name Art

I took this photo. I take my own pictures.

This image was actually a mistake of sort. I was going for a completely different look, and got this. Originally the font was blue, but it didn’t work. So I changed the font color and the flowers ended up popping. If you look closely you can see that the letters do not go behind the flowers, they are on top of them.

This particular style probably wont work with most photos.  I think that I just got lucky. I would be willing to try it again though.

I did not watermark this photo, it already had my name.

unknown

With this image I wanted to show that I can work from scratch.

I found this quote on the internet, I have no idea who said it. (obviously)

I still am unsure about my choice of font, but over all like it.

So this is what I do with my time. I spend my life locked in my room being a nerd on the computer. =] and love every second.

I tried to create a new myspace, yet again it did not work they way I wanted it to. I’ve also reached a dead end on set production for the moment. I will continue to do as much as I can, but I am being swamped with much work. We do plan to be posting a video Christmas break as a teaser, it will not be our introduction video. Just one for fun. I have not yet given up on myspace.

I had created a myspace account for Zebra Energy. However, the account was not working properly. I had it set so that anyone could add Zebra Energy as a friend with out needing our email or last name, but the account still asked for an email. Also because myspace decided to fix the privacy problems they created profile “2.0″ so I could not set the profile to public. By this point I was so frustrated with myspace that I canceled the account.  I do plan to try again, but if it does not work this time, then Zebra Energy will not have a myspace.

So, what is Zebra Energy? Zebra Energy is a web show hosted by two girls. My name is Kelsey, and my partner will be introduced later on. I will be maintaining our blog, facebook, myspace, and hotmail. Well obviously Zebra Energy isn’t yet up and running. Our set is still being made, and props found. However, we do have some pictures of the set as it is now. The set is no where near finished, and even needs some dusting…

____________________________________________

as you can see, i dont look my best

In this image you can see me working on the set. I usually wont be wearing sweats, I was just lazy today. You can see a “Hellsing” poster, that will be removed from the set. The lamp that I am placing in this photo, might also be removed. I think that it blocks to much. You can barley see the clock behind it. Also, that clock is very off. The little green table will stay as set furniture but the artwork on it will be moved. I am hoping to get a chair with wheels, as picking up that chair every time I want to get up is annoying. Usually my laptop will be at the desk. Today I am working in the living room. The desk is used for many things: it is the editing station for our set, it is where I do my homework, and many of my hobbies, and now I use it to store props.

____________________________________________________

needs work

Here is a different view of our set, without me. At this angle you can see the clock, but I don’t think that we will be filming at this angle each time. I also think that having two lights that close to each other is awkward. You can still see that poster that needs to be removed. This time however, you can now see my laundry. I do plan on leaving my pink laundry thing there, but keeping it empty or not over flowing; so that you can’t see any laundry. The big picture frame will be filled with something, we are not sure what exactly. Considering doing a collage or perhaps having it be for guest signing. My partner wants to paint the border of it zebra. The door leads to my closet, we will use it for prop storage. In the far back there is a black light, we may use it, we may get rid of it.  Not sure yet.

_______________________________________________

this is where the dusting comes in

Now you can see that black lamp much easier. You can also see that I really need to dust my desk. The clear soda shaped thing is our funds jar. We have noting yet, but hope to soon have something in it. We have a different places to keep change, and will only put dollars into that jar. I don’t plan to leave the funds jar there, just until I find a spot. Again my laptop is missing from the desk. The bottom right shelf is where I am putting props that need  a place to be, and the middle left shelf is empty for now. I will soon find  a place for these items and use that shelf space. If you notice there is a small shelf under the desk, above the cupboard on the right. Now there are picture frames in it, I plan to move those and use that space for the show idea notebook. The piece of paper that is sitting on my desk is a drawing I did. I am an artist, and you will see much of my art in the show.
